Cet article est bas\u00e9 sur les recherches men\u00e9es dans le cadre de sa th\u00e8se \u00e0 l&rsquo;INRA de Nancy sur la quantification de la dynamique intra-annuelle de l&rsquo;allocation du carbone dans le tronc des arbres. Ce travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9largi \u00e0 l\u2019analyse de l&rsquo;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re Nord. Il a clairement d\u00e9montr\u00e9 d&rsquo;importantes diff\u00e9rences entre les dynamiques d\u2019augmentation de la taille et la masse des tissus ligneux. Ce r\u00e9sultat soul\u00e8ve d&rsquo;importantes questions sur le cycle global du carbone, en particulier sa quantification en utilisant les dimensions de l&rsquo;arbre externe.<\/p>\n<p>____________________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Les arbres grossissent et prennent du poids, mais pas en m\u00eame temps!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Un consortium international men\u00e9 par des chercheurs de l\u2019Inra, en collaboration avec AgroParisTech, vient de montrer que la croissance des arbres fait intervenir des m\u00e9canismes dissoci\u00e9s dans le temps. L\u2019arbre grossit d\u2019abord, en raison de la production et de l\u2019\u00e9largissement des cellules du bois qui renforcent leurs parois dans un second temps, augmentant de fait la masse de l\u2019arbre.
