{"id":7703,"date":"2016-12-12T15:54:02","date_gmt":"2016-12-12T15:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mycor.iam.inrae.fr\/IAM\/?page_id=7703"},"modified":"2025-01-04T16:57:21","modified_gmt":"2025-01-04T16:57:21","slug":"more-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mycor.iam.inrae.fr\/IAM\/?page_id=7703","title":{"rendered":"About us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Joint Research Department \u201cTree-Microorganism Interactions\u201d<\/strong> (IAM), associating INRAE and Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine, was founded in January 2001 by merging the INRA Forest Microbiology Laboratory and the Universit\u00e9 Henri Poincar\u00e9 (Nancy I) Laboratory of Forest Biology. In January 2005, the INRA Laboratory of Forest Pathology joined the IAM Department. Since the merger in 2020 of INRA (the National Institute for Agricultural Research) and IRSTEA (the National Research Institute of Science and Technology for the Environment and Agriculture), the IAM Department is now a Joint Departement between INRAE (National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment) and Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The IAM Department is located on two sites located about 20 kilometers apart:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the <strong>Faculty of Sciences and Technology <\/strong>of Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine in Vandoeuvre-l\u00e8s-Nancy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7341 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mycor.iam.inrae.fr\/IAM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/fac-des-sciences.jpg\" alt=\"fac des sciences\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">At the <strong>INRAE Grand Est Nancy <\/strong>campus in Champenoux<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7343\" src=\"https:\/\/mycor.iam.inrae.fr\/IAM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/laboratoire-inra-tectoniques-7.jpg\" alt=\"laboratoire-inra-tectoniques-7\" width=\"278\" height=\"177\" \/>IAM&#8217;s functional structure organizes research into four teams; three are located in Champenoux while the fourth is situated in Vandoeuvre-l\u00e8s-Nancy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As of June 30th 2024, the IAM Department is comprised of 44 permanent staff members and of 31 non-permanent members including 7 post-doctoral positions, 16 PhD students and 6 technical non-permanent positions. In addition, around 10 Master students (M1 and M2) are welcomed per year into the unit. The students stay within the research teams during their internships of two months for the 1<sup>st<\/sup> year master students and for at least 5 months for the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> year students.
