Any communication related to the ARTEMIS Interdisciplinary Programme should include the following acknowledgement (in French or English, depending on the context).

1. Postdoctoral Researchers
Recruitment procedure
Any recruitment of a postdoctoral researcher under I-SITE funding must follow the procedure and meet the following criteria:
- International recruitment campaign
- Excellence of candidates
- No internal recruitment
- Transparency and merit (OTM-R – Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment)

Note: Funding allocated for postdoctoral recruitment cannot be used to extend contracts of postdoctoral researchers / researchers already employed under non–I-SITE funding, nor to recruit a PhD graduate immediately after completion of their doctorate.

Notes
- For information, the salary range for postdoctoral / contract researcher positions funded under ARTEMIS 2025 projects is between €50k and €60k per year.
- Based on feedback from several administrative officers, the table above should be considered as a guideline; in practice, it is not strictly applied.
- In all cases, we strongly recommend contacting your UL administrative and financial officer at the project preparation stage for further guidance.
2. Recruitment of BIATSS Staff (IGE, ASI, Technicians)
Recruitment procedure
The recruitment procedure is available here: UL’s Recruitment Procedure. It is carried out by the researcher in coordination with the laboratory’s administrative team.
Salary conditions for BIATSS staff
Two situations exist, involving different rules and salary scales:
a. Standard contract
The latest version of the salary simulation table at the University of Lorraine is available here: Contractual Cost Simulation Table
Note: Salary scales are applied more strictly, and recruited staff will be positioned at the first index (INM) of the first step.
b. Project-based contract
The main criteria are as follows:

- Minimum contract duration: > 1 year, up to 6 years, with the end date corresponding to the completion of the project or research operation
- The contract may be renewed, within the 6-year limit
- Salary is based on professional experience and/or a high level of technical expertise, according to the salary scales available here: Salary scale – A and A+ category and Project-based salary scale – B and intermediateA category

- This type of contract is likely to be favored by the University of Lorraine HR department, provided that conditions such as contract duration and available budget are met.
